501-C-3 Technologies provides classroom computers to Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg/ClearwaterUnified schools and home computers to Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg/ClearwaterUnified middle and high school students. We accept computer hardware donations from local businesses and other organizations. Each computer is tested and loaded with legal and appropriate software for its intended use. Finally, the computers, monitors, keyboards, and mice are cleaned before their distribution.

501-C-3 Technologies is served through the year by volunteers. Non-technical volunteers come to the project from all over the Bay Area. These volunteers help clean and prepare the equipment before distribution. As a result of their labor, they receive “service bucks” that are redeemable in the 501-C-3 TechnologiesTech Store for peripherals and upgrades.

501-C-3 Technologies will provide an acknowledgement of your donation. However, there are instances when computers offered for donation cannot be refurbished/recycled by us. In that situation, we would not be able to accept the donation. Please note: The IRS places the responsibility of establishing the fair market value on the donor.

To Request A Computer

The 501-C-3 Technologies is a community-based non-profit computer refurbishing organization located in St. Petresburg Florida, USA. The Foundation assists educational institutions and other nonprofit organizations in the Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg Florida Metropolitan area by providing upgraded/refurbished computers. If your organization is outside our local area, but can make arrangements to have the computer technology picked up at our workshop, we may be in a position to help. Please be aware that there are costs involved in any assistance the Foundation provides and that the Foundation does not have the resources to ship computers.

If your organization is interested in acquiring computer technology from the Foundation, we require a written request on your organization's letterhead and signed by an officer of the organization Your request must be email or mailed to The 501-C-3 Technologies, and must answer the following five questions:

What is your organization’s mission?
Who is the point of contact?
What is the intended use or purpose of the computer(s) i.e. how do you plan on using the requested technology?
What software applications will you be installing on the computer(s) (e.g. Microsoft Office 2000, Quicken 2004, Corel Office Suite)? The Foundation’s computers will come with only a Windows Operating System (OS) pre-installed. However, you will need to specify which OS (Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional ) you want installed.
How does the computer(s) need to be configured (i.e. specific information including processor speed, amount of memory, size of hard drive, network card, sound card, modem, etc. )? Please Note: If you do not provide the requested configuration information, it will take longer to respond to your request.
