Re-training and Research Projects
These projects help mature adults who have lost their jobs due to downsizing/layoffs, learn new skills to get back into the work force after medical treatments, or when just starting over. Individuals in this group may have low self-esteem, lack concentration and focus skills, need mentoring and require great patience to sort out their mental processing again. We encourage them by giving them small victories in a job skill. We give them short-term goals with quick results until they are able to seek income on their own, or if not, we refer them to agencies that will help them.
The success is measured on the progress of each individual. These were once high-producing people in the job market, and due to unfortunate circumstances in their lives, the level of stress overtook their minds of processing and reasoning. When a person is able to stay in the job market successfully, we know it was a job well done on our part. When a person is unable to stay in our training and mentoring program, we know it is time to have the appropriate agency step in for assistance to that individual.
